The latest fad in piercings? Eyeball jewelry
Over the years we've seen plenty of piercing fads come and go: nose, eyebrow, belly button, multiple holes in each ear for both men and women, tongue, lip, tongue again, cheeks and even the Prince Albert.
So, in this day and age, it's hard to fathom that there might actually be a location people where people could voluntarily insert a tiny piece of metal and still manage to freak out even the most die-hard among us, right?!?
Please see Exhibit A: Eyeball jewelry.
Yes, just the thought makes my eyes water too.
But, according to media reports, it's a definite thing that got its start overseas. ABC News recently documented the case of a 25-year-old Russian woman who traveled to New York to have a tiny silver heart surgically implanted just under the white membrane of her eye for $3,000.
The removable platinum eye bling can be swapped out for a new shape for $1,000.
Dude! I can barely survive the eye doctor's glaucoma air puff test, much less imagine letting someone slice my peepers open for funsies. Let's say it all together: THAT'S CRAY CRAY!
At the risk of damaging my keyboard from all the tearing my eyes are doing right now, I'm just gonna let you all check out the links and discuss this amongst yourselves. Would you try this fad?
