  1. If you're visiting Cuba, here's an easy day trip

    VIÑALES, Cuba

The lush Viñales Valley in western Cuba exudes natural beauty with its steep-sided limestone mountains, caves and rich, reddish soil where tobacco for Cuba's famous cigars is grown.

Raul Valdes Villasusa collects tobacco leaves on his farm in Vi?ales in 2016. The Cuban government takes the majority of the tobacco that families grow. They can use or sell whatever is left over.
  2. A mother and teenage daughter head to Atlanta

A quick mother-daughter road trip filled me with an excitement I haven't felt since Sofia was in kindergarten, when I was the mastermind of her adventures.

The Highland Inn, an affordable alternative to chain hotels, allows visitors to get an “in-town” feel for Atlanta. The ground floor is the original ballroom, now a popular live entertainment venue.

LAKE BUENA VISTA — It's not a movie set, but visitors to Disney World's new Pandora-World of Avatar land are in for a cinematic experience.
