  1. Middleton High student wins FBLA national presidency


    TAMPA — Three years ago, Max Michel decided to run for District 4 historian of the Florida Future Business Leaders of America, the largest student career organization in the world.

    Middleton High School’s Max Michel recently became the national president of the Future Business Leaders Association. Michel is a former Liberty Middle School student and New Tampa resident.
  2. Area shopping outlets plan sales tax holiday promotions


    The area's major outlets expect robust sales during the state's school tax holiday, which runs Aug. 4-6.

    Tampa Premium Outlets, 2300 Grand Cypress Drive. The area’s newest outlet is touting the shop tax free weekend and extra savings on top of already reduced prices.
  3. Computers are back this year as part of the school tax holiday


    TAMPA — After a one-year hiatus, the tax-free savings on personal computers and computer-related supplies has returned as part of the back-to-school tax holiday.

    Computers are back in the list of exempt items during the sales tax holiday Aug. 4-6.
