Zephyrhills man killed after truck flips, troopers say

ZEPHYRHILLS — A 50-year-old man was killed late Saturday after the car he was driving veered off the road and flipped over.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, John Wayne Light, of Zephyrhills, was driving a 2002 Ford PK south on Old Lakeland Highway south of Otis Allen Road.

Light missed a curve in the road and drove onto the shoulder. The truck flipped, then collided with a barbed wire fence before landing on its side in a pasture, troopers said.

Light was taken to Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, where he was later pronounced dead.
