NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

ORDINANCE NO. 2025-2331

A public hearing will be held on the above titled ordinance at 6:00 pm or as soon as may be heard thereafter on Thursday, September 18, 2025 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 5919 Main Street, New Port Richey, Florida, 34652. The City Council will consider this ordinance’s adoption into law upon its second and final reading on September 18, 2025. The ordinance in its entirety may be inspected at the City Clerk’s Office, Second Floor, City Hall, 5919 Main Street, New Port Richey, during regular working hours. All interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to this proposed ordinance, being particularly described as below.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEW PORT RICHEY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF THREE PERCENT IN THE ANNUAL SALARY OF CITY COUNCILMEMBERS BEGINNING ON THE DATE OF COMMENCEMENT OF THE TERMS OF COUNCILMEMBERS ELECTED AT THE ELECTION TO BE CONDUCTED ON APRIL 14, 2026; PROVIDING FOR A MONTHLY SALARY FOR THE MAYOR-COUNCILMEMBER OF $824.00; PROVIDING FOR A MONTHLY SALARY FOR ALL OTHER COUNCILMEMBERS OF $643.75; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the above City Council with respect to any matter considered at such hearing, that person will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
