NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS TO CONSIDER
LEGAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Commission of the City of Dade City, Florida will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in the City Commission Chambers at the City Hall 38020 Meridian Avenue, Dade City, Florida, beginning at 5:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the ordinance may be heard, and will consider the adoption of ordinance to Amend Chapter 2, Article VII, Section 2-524 to Authority to Acquire Lands requirements.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DADE CITY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE VII, SECTION 2-524, “AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE LANDS” OF THE CITY OF DADE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES, CONSISTENT WITH GENERAL LAW, TO REQUIRE TWO APPRAISALS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY OR REAL PROPERTY INTERESTS OF $500,000.00 OR MORE, AND TO PROVIDE THE CITY MANAGER AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE REAL PROPERTY OR REAL PROPERTY INTERESTS OF $50,000.00 OR LESS; PROVIDING FOR LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS AND INTENT; PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION AND SCRIVENER’S ERRORS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The full text of the ordinance can be obtained from the City Clerk in City Hall, located at 38020 Meridian Avenue, and may be inspected by the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. All interested parties may appear at the public hearing and may be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance, or may submit written comments to the City Commission at P.O. Box 1355, Dade City, Florida 33526-1355 by mail, or in person at the above referenced address. PLEASE NOTE: This is a public meeting. Should any interested party seek to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, they will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes.
