The Pasco County Value Adjustment Board (VAB) is seeking Attorney and Appraiser Special Magistrates to serve for the 2026 term. To be chosen, an applicant must meet the criteria of Section 194.035, Florida Statutes. Special Magistrates are paid $185.00 per hour with a four-hour minimum for a mutually scheduled hearing date. If a Magistrate is scheduled for a day of hearings in which all hearings are cancelled within 48 hours prior to the scheduled date, the Magistrate will be compensated for four hours of time for reserving the day. All selected Special Magistrates will be required to attend an orientation session on a date to be determined. The Special Magistrate shall be compensated for actual time in attendance for attending the Special Magistrate Orientation session and the four-hour minimum shall not apply. Special Magistrates will sign a contract upon hire with the specific terms of engagement.
