Saint Pete MRI Provides Notice of Data Security Incident
St. Petersburg, FL: July 29, 2026 – Saint Pete MRI (“SPMRI”), a full-service diagnostic imaging and sleep lab, has learned of a data security incident that may have involved the personal and protected health information of certain individuals. This notification provides information about the incident and resources available to assist potentially impacted individuals.
On or around February 23, 2025, SPMRI became aware of suspicious activity in their network. SPMRI immediately took steps to ensure the security of internal systems and hired independent forensic experts to investigate what happened and what data might have been affected during the incident, if any. The experts confirmed that SPMRI’s electronic patient care and imaging systems were not accessed, but as a result of the investigation, SPMRI learned that certain scanned data may have been acquired without authorization. SPMRI then hired an independent team to conduct a comprehensive and time-intensive review of those files. On April 7, 2026, that review determined that certain personal information may have been contained in the affected data. SPMRI have since worked diligently to verify the potentially affected individuals, gather and validate contact information, and assess the scope of the impacted information to complete this notice. This process was completed on July 15, 2026.
Please note that at this time, SPRMI has no evidence to suggest misuse or attempted misuse of this information. However, on July 22, 2026, notice of this incident was provided to potentially impacted individuals with available address information. The notice that was provided included information about the incident and about steps that potentially impacted individuals can take to help protect their information.
The information varies between individuals, but the affected information may have included name, Social Security number, date of birth, driver’s license number or state identification number, medical information, and/or health insurance information.
The privacy and security of data in SPMRI’s care is of utmost importance. SPMRI has implemented additional measures to enhance the security of its digital environment in an effort to minimize the likelihood of a similar event from occurring in the future. SPMRI has also established a toll-free call center to answer questions about the incident. Call center representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time and can be reached at 1-877-396-3217.
