NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR AMENDMENTS TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO COMPLY WITH FLORIDA LAWS
THE TOWN OF ST. LEO, FLORIDA, PROPOSES TO ADOPT:

ORDINANCE NO. 27-02

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF ST. LEO, FLORIDA, AMENDING ITS CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR COMPLIANCE WITH UPDATES TO FLORIDA LAWS IN 2025 AND 2026, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 14, SECTION 14-20, TOWN OF ST. LEO CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO REVISE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICABILITY AND EXPIRATION; BY AMENDING THE TOWN OF ST. LEO LAND

DEVELOPMENT CODE, AMENDING CHAPTER 100 TO MODIFY DEFINITIONS; AMENDING CHAPTERS 300 AND 400 AND ADDING NEW CHAPTER 1400 TO PROVIDE FOR RESIDENTIAL

SECTIONS UNDER NEW CHAPTERS AND SECTIONS; ADDING NEW DEFINITIONS; REMOVING CONFLICTING AND DUPLICATIVE PROVISIONS; CLARIFYING DEVELOPMENT REVIEW AND APPROVAL AUTHORITY AND PROCEDURES; PROVIDING FOR OPTIONAL NEIGHBORHOOD WORKSHOPS; CLARIFYING PRE-APPLICATION CONFERENCE PROCEDURES; CLARIFYING PERMIT APPLICATION FEES; UPDATING PERMIT APPLICATION REVIEW TIMELINES IN COMPLIANCE WITH FLORIDA STATUTES; CLARIFYING PERMIT APPLICATION CATEGORIES; PROVIDING FOR ALTERNATIVE USE PERMITS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A public hearing on this Ordinance will be held by the Local Planning Agency and Town Commission on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. or soon thereafter.

The hearings will be held in Town Hall at 34544 County Road 52, St. Leo, FL 33574.

Copies of the proposed Amendments may be viewed by the public at Town Hall at 34544 County Road 52, St. Leo, FL 33574 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The public is invited to attend these meetings and/or submit written comments to the Town’s Clerk’s office regarding the Amendments.

If any person decides to appeal any decision made by this Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, he/she will need a record of the proceeding, and that for such purposes he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Persons who need an accommodation in order to attend or participate in this meeting should contact the Town Clerk at (352) 588-2622 at least 3 business days prior to the meeting in order to request such assistance.
