Qualifying to Run for City Mayor

The City Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. All registered voters of the City of New Port Richey will have the opportunity to elect one person to serve as Mayor of the City of New Port Richey. The mayor shall be elected for a term of three (3) years. Candidates for this municipal elective office must be duly registered voters and residents within the corporate limits of the City of New Port Richey for at least six months prior to the election. Qualifying begins on February 10, 2026 at noon and ends on February 17, 2026 at noon. No applications will be accepted after that time. Persons wishing to run for office may download the qualifying documents from the City’s website at https://www.cityofnewportrichey.org/Government/City-Clerk/Elections/. Hard copies of the documents may be requested at the City Clerk’s Office, Second Floor, City Hall, 5919 Main Street, New Port Richey, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
