NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CHANGING THE LIST OF ALLOWED CONDITIONAL USES IN THE C-1 COMMERCIAL NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRICT

In accordance with the City of Oldsmar Code of Ordinances and Florida Statute Sec. 166.041(3)(c)2:
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Oldsmar will conduct the second public hearing on proposed Ordinance 2026-04, described below by title only, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chamber located at 101 State Street West, Oldsmar, Florida.
ORDINANCE 2026-04
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OLDSMAR, FLORIDA, ADDING THE DEFINITION FOR “INSTITUTIONAL USES” TO SECTION 2.1 (GENERAL) OF ARTICLE II (DEFINITIONS) AND AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 5.5.2.1 (INTENT AND PURPOSE OF DISTRICT) AND 5.5.2.3 (CONDITIONAL USES) OF SUBSECTION 5.5.2 (C-1 COMMERCIAL NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRICT) OF SECTION 5.5 (RETAIL SALES AND GENERAL SERVICES) OF ARTICLE V (ZONING REGULATIONS) OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE CITY OF OLDSMAR TO ALLOW INSTITUTIONAL USES AS A CONDITIONAL USE WITHIN THE C-1 DISTRICT AND TO REFERENCE THE APPROPRIATE FUTURE LAND USE DESIGNATIONS OF RESIDENTIAL MEDIUM AND OFFICE WITHIN THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE TO PROVIDE FOR CONSISTENCY WITH THE CITY’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
All interested parties may appear at the Council Meeting/Public Hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
The proposed ordinance and background materials are available at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 100 State Street, Oldsmar, Florida 34677, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Persons are advised that if they decide to appeal any decision made at the Council Meeting/Public Hearings, they will need a record of the proceedings, and, for such purposes, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made. Verbatim transcripts are not provided by the City. Arrangements should be made with an outside agency, i.e., court reporter, in advance to obtain a verbatim transcript.
