NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS TO CONSIDER
LEGAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Commission of the City of Dade City, Florida will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall 38020 Meridian Avenue, Dade City, Florida, 33525 beginning at 5:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the ordinance may be heard, and will consider the adoption of an ordinance to amend and update Chapter 86- Taxation, Article II- Business Tax.

ORDINANCE NO. 2026-05
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DADE CITY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 86 - TAXATION, ARTICLE II - BUSINESS TAX, OF THE CITY’S CODE OF ORDINANCES; AMENDING SECTION 86-34 - DUE DATE; PENALTY FOR LATE PAYMENT, TO CONFORM WITH FLORIDA STATUTES 205.053(1) BY CHANGING THE DUE DATE FROM AUGUST 1ST TO JULY 1ST; AMENDING SECTION 86-37 - EXEMPTIONS FROM PAYMENT OF FEE, BY REMOVING SUBSECTION (i) DUE TO THE REPEAL OF FLORIDA STATUTES 205.171; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The full text of the ordinance can be obtained from the City Clerk in City Hall, located at 38020 Meridian Avenue, and may be inspected by the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. All interested parties may appear at the public hearing and may be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance, or may submit written comments to the City Commission at P.O. Box 1355, Dade City, Florida 33526-1355 by mail, or in person at the above referenced address. PLEASE NOTE: This is a public meeting. Should any interested party seek to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, they will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes.
