HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY AVIATION AUTHORITY (AUTHORITY)
NOTICE OF STANDARDIZATION OF SERVICES
AND INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT

The Authority intends to approve a standardization of services for SITA Information Networking Consulting USA, Inc. (SITA) Self-Service Bag Drop (SSBD) to improve operational efficiency at the ticketing level and enhance the passenger experience through automated bag drop and check-in services for all airlines. The Authority implemented the use of SITA SSBD in 2023 and the system remains in use at Tampa International Airport. The solution includes the required hardware, software, support, maintenance, and professional services to deliver a fully operational system. SSBD streamlines the check-in process by allowing passengers to independently tag and drop their bags, reducing queues, decreasing staffing demands, improving throughput, and supporting more consistent service across airline operations.
